Custom Engineering

Every West Bend Equipment product is designed and built to customer specifications. This individualized approach assures customers that their equipment is ideally suited to the task at hand.
Rather than making a line of standard products and forcing the customer to choose one model or the other, each machine, whether a scissors lift, inverter, coil cart, or die and mold handling machine, is designed and built for the actual conditions to be encountered in the factory. Our engineers, using the most advanced CAD systems, develop a design that meets customer requirements. Every customer receives an approval drawing showing the dimensions, performance specifications, and features of their equipment before the machine is built. This provides the customer with an extra level of assurance that the equipment they order will do the job efficiently and effectively.

Does your plant have special electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic standards? Are your maintenance technicians or plant engineers familiar with one particular brand of Programmable Logic Controllers? Do you have specific paint codes, component brands, or electrical ratings in your facility? West Bend can meet your specifications and requirements.

To ensure that the latest technology and industrial standards are utilized, Bushman Equipment engineers participate in many of the nation’s leading professional organizations. Among these organizations are the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Welding Society (AWS), Material Handling Institute of America (MHIA), Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA), and the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST). In addition to having engineers licensed as Professional Engineers in numerous states, our staff has been selected to be members of several committees that create safety and design standards for the material handling industry.

West Bend recognizes that custom-built equipment needs product support. For that reason, our equipment comes with a service manual, warning labels, and guarding of moving parts. Moreover, our engineers are skilled and experienced at making sure the products they design are safe and reliable and that they conform to all applicable ANSI and OSHA safety standards. Products are designed for serviceability and reliability. We maintain complete service and parts information files, so that if your equipment requires maintenance we are ready to support you.

West Bend Equipment uses only high-quality materials and components in its equipment. All of our welders are certified to AWS D1.1 Welding Code. Each machine is fully tested and inspected before shipment. Our electrical controls are built to meet the NEC code and NFPA 79.
